The Lake Logan International Triathlon took place at the Lake Logan Episcopal Center in Canton, NC on Aug. 4, 2012. This event was a 1500 meter Swim, 24 mile Bike and a 10K Run. The international distance race has quickly become one of the premier races in the Southeast, attracting athletes from across the country. Lake Logan may be the most beautiful triathlon venue in the country.  The swim in this pristine mountain lake has a unique course starting near the main docks but finishing under the highway bridge in the mouth of the river.  The bike course is unusual for the mountains in that it is mostly flat and very fast.  It is a lollipop shaped course that takes riders to and from Canton.  The run course is an out-and-back along a two-lane road along the river.  It has a 1-2% grade on the outbound leg, almost guaranteeing a negative split on the downhill inbound leg. Two ActivEdge athletes participated in this event, Brian Diaz and Christine Barcay, with times of 2 hrs 27 min and 2 hrs 47 min., respectively.
