ActivEdge sends 9 athletes from its year-round and summer programs to college with high hopes and expectations, both scholastically and athletically:
Christina Eckhardt – graduated #1 in her class from Riverside High School in Durham. She played varsity soccer for 4 years and would run in some races at the same time for the track team. She is on a nationally ranked club soccer team, ’87 CASL Elite, that finished 2nd in the nation in 2005. They are the reigning state champs and will represent NC next year when many of the players come back from their first year in college. She will be attending Ivy League Columbia University in the fall.
Ben Feldman – graduated from Jordan High School in Durham. He played varsity lacrosse for 3 years and advanced to the Final Four in the state tournament this past spring. He plays attack on the Triangle Select League (TSL) team. He will be attending Denison University in Ohio and looks forward to playing against former Jordan teammate Mike McGeary.
Bess Harrington – graduated from Riverside High School in Durham. She played varsity soccer for 4 years and participated in the East/West Senior game this past summer. She is on the nationally ranked ’87 CASL Elite team and is looking forward to joining them again summer of 2007. She will be attending Wake Forest University in the fall and is part of a talented 2006 recruiting class for the Deacons.
Joe Howard – graduated from Jordan High School in Durham. He played varsity lacrosse for 4 years at Woodbury and Jordan, advancing to the Final Four in the state tournament this past spring. He plays attack on the TSL team and on Team Carolina. He was a High School All-American this past spring and played in the North/South/East/West game in Colorado for top seniors this past summer. Despite playing for Woodbury his freshman year, he still ended up being Jordan’s overall top goal scorer. He will be attending The University of North Carolina in the fall and hopes to be a contributing member in his first season.
Mike McGeary – graduated from Jordan High School in Durham. He played varsity lacrosse for 4 years at Middlesex and Jordan, advancing to the Final Four in the state tournament this past spring. He plays long-pole middie on the TSL team and on Team Carolina and is regarded as one of the top long-pole middies in NC. He was a High School All-American this past spring and played in the East/West Senior game this past summer. Despite playing for Middlesex his freshman year, he still ended up setting the school record at Jordan for ground balls. He will be attending Colorado College in the fall.
Leigh and Paige Morrow – the twins graduated from East Chapel Hill High School. Both Leigh and Paige played varsity soccer for 4 years winning a NC State Championship for 3A schools in 2005. They were captains of their high school and club teams. Leigh played defense for the Triangle Futbol Club (TFC) on the ’87 Navy team, while Paige played forward for the same team. These two hardly do anything apart and will be attending Appalachian State University together in the fall. They are looking to make an immediate impact on a young team.
Morven Ross – graduated from East Chapel Hill High School. She played varsity soccer for 4 years and won a NC State Championship in 2005. She co-captained her high school team with the Morrow twins. She is on the nationally ranked ’87 CASL Elite team and finished 2nd in the nation in 2005. She played in the East/West Senior game with teammate Bess Harrington and also played in a couple of international appearances for the Scottish National Team. She will be attending James Madison University in the fall.
Sam Solie – graduated from Middlesex boarding school in Massachusetts. He played 4 years of varsity lacrosse and soccer for Jordan and Middlesex. He captained and was one of the top soccer and lacrosse athletes in the New England area for Middlesex. He plays middie on the TSL team and on Team Carolina and played for several years on the ’87 TFC Navy soccer team. This talented two-sport athlete had a hard choice to make, but has decided to focus on lacrosse and will be attending Duke University in the fall.
